The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) successfully organized a business delegation visit to Romania from 25th to 31st May 2025, aimed at strengthening bilateral economic relations and fostering trade and investment opportunities between Sri Lanka and Romania.
The delegation comprised prominent Sri Lankan business leaders and representatives from diverse sectors, all united in their commitment to building meaningful and sustainable partnerships with Romanian counterparts. The visit included a series of high-level engagements, such as business-to-business (B2B) meetings, networking sessions, and discussions with key Romanian business chambers and government institutions.
The delegation was led by Dr. Lakmal Fernando, Deputy President of NCCSL and Managing Director of Regen Renewables (Pvt) Ltd. Other distinguished delegates included: Mr. Deepal Nelson – Immediate Past President of NCCSL/ Director, GSH City-Hotel Pvt Ltd.; Mr. Hemantha Kumara Perera – Council Member of NCCSL / Managing Director, Isabella (Pvt) Ltd. and Sarasavi Exports (Pvt) Ltd.; Mr. Himal Ariyasena, Council Member of NCCSL / Managing Director, Himaco (Pvt) Ltd.; Mr. Chathura Perera, Council Member of NCCSL / Managing Director, Bellose Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.; Mr. Teshan Dilannka, Council Member of NCCSL / Managing Director, Summit Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.; Ms. Dulari Hansika, Directress, Summit Lanka Travels & Tours and Mr. Nawod Thiwanka Wijendra, Director, Nalin Gems.
During the visit, the delegation had the honour of meeting Her Excellency M.E.M. Joseph Weninger, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Romania, and held productive discussions with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest, among other key stakeholders.
Through initiatives like this, the NCCSL continues to play a vital role in promoting international business dialogue and supporting Sri Lankan enterprises to explore new global markets. The Romania business mission marks a significant step forward in expanding Sri Lanka’s international footprint and cultivating long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
