On 29th October 2024, the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka China Business Cooperation Council together with the National Stroke Association of Sri Lanka, hosted a dedicated awareness session on stroke prevention to mark World Stroke Day. Held at the National Chamber Auditorium, the event focused on educating participants about stroke symptoms, emergency response, and preventive care.
The Guest speaker Prof. Udaya Ranawaka, Professor in Neurology, provided in-depth insights into different types of strokes, early symptom recognition, and available treatment options. In addition, Dr Gamini Pathirana, President of the National Stroke Association of Sri Lanka also briefed the objectives and services offered by their Association.
The event also featured a free eye testing camp, BMI screenings and blood testing, which helped participants assess personal health risks related to non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
We would like to extend our gratitude to the organizations supported us with providing free testing facilities to the participants; Eye testing by The Optician, BMI reading by Mega Life and Blood tests by Nawaloka Hospitals Pvt Ltd.
