The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), successfully conducted another Face-to-Face Training Program on Intellectual Property (IP) for Business Competitiveness from 18th–20th August 2025 at the National Chamber premises.

The resource panel featured distinguished experts in intellectual property, including Professor (Dr.) Prabuddha Ganguli, an esteemed IP Consultant from India, Ms. Tamara Nanayakkara, Counsellor at the IP for Business Division, and Ms. Chamindi Ekanayake , Head of Intellectual Property Division at Nithya Partners

10 selected SMEs participated in the program, gaining valuable insights through the IP diagnostic tool and personalized guidance on leveraging intellectual property to unlock business potential. The sessions also offered practical consultations on copyright, patents, trade secrets, trademarks, creative designs and the strategic use of IP to enhance competitiveness and long-term sustainability.

This initiative reflects the Chamber’s continued commitment to empowering the SME sector with knowledge and tools to strengthen innovation, brand value, and global market readiness through effective use of intellectual property.
