We are proud to announce a significant milestone in international economic cooperation: the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The MoU signing ceremony took place on 22nd April 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Secretariat in Colombo. The event was graced by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, and Hon. Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism of Sri Lanka. H.E. Saeed Mubarak Alhajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs and Dr. Lakmal Fernando, Deputy President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, signed the MoU.

This landmark agreement establishes the UAE–Sri Lanka Joint Business Council, which will serve as a strategic platform to boost bilateral trade, investment, and development initiatives.

This collaboration not only marks the strengthening of economic ties between the UAE and Sri Lanka but also underscores our shared vision of unlocking new avenues of growth and prosperity for the business communities of both nations.

Together, we look forward to a future of robust partnerships and meaningful economic progress.
